SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY
Spybot Search and Destroy is a free application that scans and removes harmful spyware, adware and similar malicious software from your computer. These programs most often load without the user’s awareness, collected information about their computer usage habits and then secretly sends this information to companies who can sell it to the advertising and marketing industries.

To the computer user these programs can drastically slow a computer’s performance and Internet connection because they load in the background, hidden from the user and use the Internet connection to send information back and forth. Spyware, adware and the like are not the same as viruses and as such require anti-spyware programs. Although some antivirus software include, or at least claim to include anti-spyware scanners, Spybot is one of the first and remains the best spyware prevention tool on the net…and it’s free too!
